A gnome with an eccentric flair. He wears mismatched clothes in bright colours and has an oversized hat adorned with dangling trinkets. His wagon is packed with oddities: jars of glowing liquids, rusted keys, strange masks, clockwork devices, and other peculiar items. A painted sign on the side reads: “Thimbletwist’s Wondrous Wares – Rare Finds for Discerning Adventurers!” --- # Interactions - If the party offends him, he curses them to being half-sized for an hour and vanishes. - If they buy something, or treat him well, he offers them a Compass of Hoarding, before packing up and then vanishing. --- # Shop Players may use **Insight** to see if he's being truthful, or **Arcana/Investigation** to inspect the items. If they succeed, he vanishes immediately and the item drops to the floor. All items cost 50 Gold Coins. - Glowshroom Powder: A small pouch of iridescent powder that glows faintly in the dark. Erasmus claims it wards off dangerous beasts, but it’s just harmless, glowing dust. - Cursed Amulet of Fortune: Grants +1 to ability checks for one day but inflicts disadvantage on attack rolls for the same duration. - Key of Nowhere: An ornate key that doesn’t fit any lock but hums faintly when held near something magical. - Potion of Unlikely Heroism: A dubious potion that Erasmus promises will make the drinker braver. It grants advantage against Intimidation and Persuasion, but also causes the drinker to loudly boast to anyone they can see. Lasts for an hour. - Ornate Lockbox: (Free for “special customers”): Erasmus offers a small and seemingly mundane ornate lockbox free. It’s actually a tiny mimic that comes to life when no one is looking, causing minor trouble, particularly stealing gold coins.
