# Safety - Before starting, any content or topics that a player may wish to avoid should be brought up privately with the DM - Any content or topics during gameplay that makes a player uncomfortable should be brought up privately with the DM as soon as possible # General - No retroactive changes - The goal is to have fun, if you're not enjoying something, let me know - The rules are there as a guide, but my decision is final - The "#game" channel should ONLY be in-character # Time | Game State | Ideal | Maximum Before NPCing | | ---------------- | ---------- | --------------------- | | Exploration Turn | < 24 hours | 48 hours | | Combat Turn | < 12 hours | 24 hours | - If a player knows they will miss a turn, please inform the DM. - If a player is unable to attend a turn, they will become NPCs - NPCing characters will be played by the DM until the player returns # Combat - The party will attack together, sharing one Initiative value, as will opponents - Players may act in any order and all at once, then all enemies will follow - Declare intent and roll at the same time - Roll both to-hit and damage at the same time (or use macros) - If a players forgets an ability/feature, no retroactive plays - If a player misses a saving throw, the DM may roll for them - Each turn in combat should be restricted to what is achievable in 6 seconds # Exploration - If a player rolls a check (e.g., Persuasion), they don’t roll again unless the situation changes - Players can role-play small scenes (e.g., tavern talks) in the "#downtime" channel while the main game progresses # Writing - Write in first-person (I look around the room.) - Use "quotes" for dialogue ("Let's check out that house!") - Use _italics_ for internal thoughts (_I don't trust this guy..._) - Use **bold** for emphasis ("I **really** don't like this")
